Disrupting Diamonds
Driven by the desire to create modern jewelry and make diamonds more accessible, Valérie Messika launched her Maison in Paris in 2005. The Artistic Director wanted to shake up the Traditions of luxury diamond jewelry, long confined to the tradition of engagement rings. The original idea which inspired her: was to make the diamond a wearable, everyday jewel, comfortable, feminine and easy to wear just like a fashion accessory. Through consistent new designs and new techniques, Valerie Messika creates air of freedom to the luxury sector. The Messika diamond has been brought to life, it moves, dances, is playful and never boring. The unique talent of Maison Messika also lies in its perfect expertise of gemstones. The daughter of the famous diamond merchant, André Messika, the founder and artistic director draws on more than 50 years of expertise in the world of diamonds. A strong family heritage underpins this unique Jewelry Maison, and is a perfect example of generational diamond knowledge.
A new style of jewelry
In 2007, Messika launched Move, a signature collection that has become iconic with its unique concept around bezel-set diamonds which slide on an ingenious system of rails. The immediately recognisable motif that has been available since 2007 in numerous collections and more than 270 models is a worldwide and unequivocal success. Challenging the traditional jewellery industry, a strong brand identity and pushing the boundaries led Maison Messika to continue its growth.
In 2013, the first boutique was opened in Paris, on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, and the first High Jewelry collection was launched. This was followed by the opening of its Parisian workshop in 2015 and international expansion. Messika now has more than 570 points of sale in 85 countries worldwide.
When Jewelry meet fashion
Design muses, fashion shows and celebrity moments, Messika is a jewelry Maison with an haute-couture approach to fashion.
Between 2017 and 2018, the Maison joined forces with supermodel Gigi Hadid to co-design two capsule collections: Move Addiction and My Soul. In 2019, Valérie Messika went even further by choosing not one, but three new muses: Kate Moss, Joan Smalls and Sylvia Hoeks. In 2020 and then again in 2021, she co-created a High Jewelry collection with Kate Moss. Vibrant pieces with an eclectic style, inspired by the famous model’s jewelry box were unveiled during an exceptional fashion show as part of Paris Fashion Week. In 2022 and 2023, Messika chose the iconic American model Kendall Jenner to become the new face of its campaigns. In 2023, Alton Mason became the Maison’s first male face and starred on the catwalk during the annual Messika Fashion Show. New collaborations, innovative designs, daring styles; Messika embarks on a visionary era for contemporary Jewelry and High Jewelry.
